In 1999 Keystone Cooperative, a nonprofit member owned cooperative, formed for the purpose of bringing natural gas service to the Boroughs of Windber, Scalp Level and Paint Pennsylvania. Over time Keystone Cooperative’s membership has grown to over 650 members and recently has expanded into parts of Nanty Glo, Pa. Governed by the members themselves and managed by Utility Pipeline Ltd, Keystone Cooperative remains to be an economical energy alternative for its members and local community.
Keystone Cooperative (Keystone) is a 501 (c) (12) non-profit, member-owned cooperative. Governed by an elected board of cooperative members, all high level decisions such as new project construction, gas purchasing, ect are made by the elected board members.
Utility Pipeline Ltd, Keystone Cooperative’s primary contractor, is a professional natural gas management company that provides a full range of services in the natural gas industry for 20,000 families, businesses and other institutions throughout Ohio as well as parts of Pennsylvania and Indiana. The company provides an economical and efficient energy alternative to communities by engineering, installing, maintaining and operating natural gas distribution systems.
